To Resolve or Not to Resolve
You are most likely back to work, the holiday décor is back in the attic, and the goodies are all eaten. Last thing on the list, your New Year’s resolutions.
According to a recent ComRes poll, of the 10 most common New Year’s resolutions, 6 are health related: Exercise more, lose weight, eat more healthily, take a more active approach to health, drink less, and stop smoking.
The new year can also be a great time to take charge of your sexual health. Here are three easy things you can do:
- Get tested for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The HIV test takes only one minute and involves a simple finger stick. For a free HIV test, come to one of PHNTX’s two clinic locations. Clinic locations and hours are listed here.
- Practice protected sex using a condom. Using condoms correctly every time you have sex is an effective way to prevent getting or giving HIV and sexually transmitted infections. Contact PHNTX at 214-521-5191 to get free condoms and/or lube!
- Consider PrEP as a part of your prevention plan. Talk with your doctor about if you are a good candidate for PrEP. PrEP has been shown to be very effective when taken as prescribed. Decide you’re interested in PrEP? Call us to learn more about our PrEP program and the care we can offer you!
