Red Ribbon Society Recognition
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” –William Arthur Ward
Red Ribbon Society Members were feeling the gratitude Wednesday, July 27th at the annual Red Ribbon Society Appreciation event, held at Mercado 369 in Bishop Arts. Each year, Red Ribbon Society members are recognized for helping power those moments when someone’s health changes for the better. Ben Callaway, Case Manager Supervisor, shared with attendees how their support provides much needed funds to help homeless individuals living with HIV. Dr. John Carlo, CEO, and Faynetta Fort, PHNTX board member, shared that members’ investments fill the gaps in programs not covered by government grants, such as emergency housing. Last year, Red Ribbon Society members help provide 439 emergency housing nights.
Red Ribbon Society members Educate the community to inform and reduce the stigma of HIV/AIDS. Members Partner with the agency to help lead North Texas beyond the HIV crisis. The feeling of gratitude we have for this passionate, committed group is immeasurable. We are grateful for the commitment Red Ribbon Society members make to invest in our community and make it a stronger, healthier community and power those moments of change.
