DALLAS, T.X. (Feb. 9, 2017) – In recognition of HIV/AIDS treatment advances and the evolving needs of the Dallas community, today AIDS Arms proudly announces a new organization name – Prism Health North Texas. AIDS Arms opened in 1986 to serve North Texas in the midst of the AIDS epidemic crisis. Since then, the organization has supported and treated thousands of people living with, or at risk for HIV/AIDS in the community.

“HIV treatment has improved over the last 30 years, to such a degree that today the focus is less on AIDS and more on the prevention and treatment of HIV” says Prism Health North Texas CEO Dr. John T. Carlo. “The name Prism Health reflects the broad array of services we provide, as well as the diversity we see in the needs of the community, and the people we serve. While our name has changed, our patients and clients will continue to receive the high quality of care and services they have come to expect, and the tailored approach we take to each and every individual who walks through our doors, in search of a path to better health and a brighter outlook.”

Prism Health North Texas holds to the guiding philosophy that high-quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and that successful prevention and treatment of infectious diseases must consider the entire human condition. Those beliefs are reflected in the way Prism Health North Texas sees and delivers care.

Despite the name change, the organization’s core commitments and offerings to clients will remain consistent. These commitments include:

  • Comprehensive care from experienced, specialized professionals
  • The most advanced treatment in HIV/AIDS
  • Complete confidentiality
  • Convenience, including short wait times and onsite pharmacy services
  • Accessibility through our two clinics
  • Affordability

Additionally, the Trinity Health and Wellness Center will now be referred to as the Trinity – Oak Cliff clinic, and the Peabody Health Center will now be referred to as the Peabody – South Dallas clinic.
